Pictures of the room layout

The rooms themselves are basic student rooms as you can see from the photos.

Each single room has:
  • a single bed with fitted and flat sheet, pillow and  pillowcase
  • 2 blankets
  • 2 towels
  • 1 fan
  • built in desk
  • either a lockable wardrobe or lockable small cupboard under desk - you will need to supply your own padlock/s if you want secure storage
There are a few rooms that have two beds in them. There is a small laundry on the ground floor of each building with washing machine and if I remember correctly a dryer. There are bathroom facilities on each floor with toilets, washbasins and showers. We will be designating these as either Female or Male only.  The buildings are not air conditioned but the day I visited was hot and it was quite cool inside.

THE ROOMS THEMSELVES WON'T BE LOCKABLE. The buildings themselves are able to be locked and access will be via key code entry. People staying will be issued with the code.

We will be using two buildings of three stories each. A common area is located on the ground and middle floors of each, though the middle floor common area is smaller. 3-4 computers will be available in at least one common area in each building, with internet access. There is seating, plus lounge seating as well as TV's. I don't think there is a TV in every common area.

There is an annex nearby with a larger lounge area and a HUGE TV with a selection of DVDs. In here there is a very basic kitchen plus a pool table. A BBQ area is outside. There is also an office/quiet area which will be used as the tournament office, rest area, first aid station etc.

Canberra Grammar school is about a 10-15 minute walk from the Manuka shopping area. This has a Coles supermarket, the usual fast food outlets, plus a number of restaurants etc. It also has a movie theatre. I believe there is a canteen operating at the school during the tournament for lunch, but you will probably need to walk to the shopping centre for breakfast and dinner.

Layout: The majority of the rooms are single, and there are a small amount of double and triple rooms. Families can opt to stay in separate rooms if they wish. Both buildings have fully-equipped bathrooms with private showers, and small kitchenettes are available on each floor (these are very basic, only holding a microwave and a fridge).

Cost:  Adults: $50 per night

          Juniors: $30 per night.

Please note: All efforts will be made to keep families/groups together on one floor where possible. Depending on the confirmed bookings there may be floors that are designated male or female only.

Juniors: All juniors have to be supervised by a parent/guardian. They do not have to be in the same room as their supervisor or have to be part of the same family.
